Lindsay Stegenga is currently enrolled in Social Work Studies at the NHL-Stenden Leeuwarden, where she leads a research project within the Inclusive CommunityLab. Centred around the Dutch welfare system, the project addresses the system’s inaccessibility caused by complex and often paradoxical bureaucracy, and advocates for the embedding of knowledge-through-experience as an integral part of social studies.
Starting in 2020, they produced CRISIS (supported by GoShort International Short Film Festival and Omroep Gelderland), a short documentary about the impact of Lindsay her hospitalisation in a mental healthcare-facility. Additionally, they founded Rizoom, a platform through which they collaborate with various stakeholders in the social domain.
