Tigist Shewarega Hussen is a feminist researcher specializing in feminist internet research in Africa. She works in the Women's Right Programme (WRP) at the Association for Progressive Communication (APC). She is the Feminist Research Lead and project coordinator of Feminist Internet Research Network (FIRN). Tigist has just completed her PhD in Women and Gender Studies at the University of the Western Cape. She is now pursuing her Post Doc position at the Hub for Decolonial Feminist Psychologies in Africa, department of Psychology, at the University of Cape Town. Her research interest focuses on the exploration of a Pan-African constellation of feminist activism across the continent. Tigist is an ardent believer in a critical Pan-Africanist feminist take on digital media and feminist movements as a necessary exploration to build the foundations for theorizing African feminist knowledge production.
